From loamy soil to clay loam. Originally alluvial-colluvial, stony with good drainage. Mildly Mediterranean climate with a large variation in temperature between day and night.
Temperatures during the ripening period were lower than in the previous year. As a result, the grapes were slow to ripen. The grapes obtained balanced acidity and better phenolic ripeness in the red varieties. Temperatures were cooler during April. The result was fruitier wines with a moderate degree of alcohol.
